“The People Have Always Been United by Spirituality.” — National Leader Heydar Aliyev

On May 9, in commemoration of Victory Day over Fascism, and on May 10, in honor of the Remembrance Day of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a special event was organized. The event was held with the informational support of the “Innovative Progress and Support to Socio-Economic Development” Public Union and organized by the “Art and Creativity Club” Educational Center.
The event commenced with the wise words of National Leader Heydar Aliyev:
“It has always been spirituality that united the people. For moral foundations are superior to all others. A nation with high culture will always move forward, will always live, and will always develop.”
This profound quote set the tone for the event, fostering a spirit of moral unity, national identity, and creative energy among participants.
The event officially began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan, especially in the victorious 44-day Patriotic War.
The event was officially opened with speeches by Saida Musayeva, Chairwoman of the “Innovative Progress and Support to Socio-Economic Development” Public Union, and Jamala Nakhchivani, Founder of the “Art and Creativity Club” Educational Center.

The event dedicated to this remarkable day brought together numerous prominent public figures, creative individuals, and representatives of civil society. Among the distinguished guests were renowned geologist and writer Eldar Ahmadov—a member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers and the Russian Union of Mine Surveyors, author of numerous scientific and literary works, and the person who named two rivers discovered in Siberia; Laman Agalarova, representative of the National NGO Forum; Saadat Bayramova, Chairperson of the Public Union for Assistance to Patients with Cystic Fibrosis; Zeynab Hajiyeva, Chairperson of the “Chiraq” Child Development Center Public Union; as well as active members of the “Innovative Progress and Support to Socio-Economic Development” Public Union.

The art and handicraft exhibition organized within the framework of the event became a significant platform for Azerbaijani youth and creative individuals to showcase their potential. The exhibition featured works by young artists and craftsmen from various regions of Azerbaijan. The pieces reflected both the heroic chapters of our history and the richness of our national and cultural heritage, presented through a refined aesthetic language.

The event participants—including heads of non-governmental organizations, public figures, media representatives, and art enthusiasts—showed great interest in the exhibition and highly praised the works on display. They emphasized that such initiatives strengthen young people’s connection to national values and deepen their interest in history.
Speakers highlighted the invaluable role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the formation and consolidation of Azerbaijani statehood, noting that his ideas of national spirit and patriotism remain a moral pillar of society today. They also stressed the historical significance of the victory over fascism in 1945 for all humanity and the importance of remembering Azerbaijan’s contributions to that struggle.
As part of the event, an engaging intellectual game was held for the participants. Attendees actively showcased their knowledge, and the winners were awarded prizes.
At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the young creatives featured in the exhibition and to the organizers. It was announced that similar educational and spiritually valuable initiatives would continue in the future.
This event once again demonstrated that preserving and promoting national and moral values, encouraging the creative development of youth, and keeping historical memory alive all contribute to building a more confident and resilient society for the future.
