Victory Day – A Celebration of Our Pride and National Unity

November 8 – Victory Day is a date that will forever be remembered with pride in the history of Azerbaijan. This day symbolizes the historic triumph achieved as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, the liberation of our lands from occupation, and the restoration of our territorial integrity. Victory Day is a time when we commemorate our heroes with deep gratitude and celebrate the unshakable will and unity of our people.

The decades-long occupation came to an end in 2020 thanks to the unmatched heroism of the Azerbaijani Army and the unity of our nation. This victory demonstrated Azerbaijan’s strength, determination, and loyalty to a just cause to the entire world. It inspired pride in every Azerbaijani and was inscribed in our history with golden letters.

This triumph was not only the liberation of our territories but also the restoration of our national honor and dignity. Thanks to the bravery of our heroic soldiers, Shusha and other ancient cities of Azerbaijan were liberated. With the liberation of Shusha, our people’s cultural heritage was revived, and Karabakh – the cradle of Azerbaijani music, poetry, and art – entered a new era.

As the people of Azerbaijan celebrate Victory Day today, we honor the memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland with profound respect. Every inch of our sacred land is soaked in the blood of our martyrs and is invaluable to us – their spirit will always live on. It is because of their heroism that we now have a free Karabakh and a peaceful, stable Azerbaijan.

Victory Day reminds us of our faith in the future, our love for the homeland, and our loyalty to our people. The Azerbaijani nation has always demonstrated its unity and strength, and we will continue to work tirelessly for the development of our country. This day, filled with the spirit of victory, unites us and stands as a true example of patriotism for future generations.
